We are on the lookout for individuals who have been welcomed through Community Sponsorship or Neighbours for Newcomers to help build our Experts by Experience platform.
We know that the true experts in community led welcome are those who have welcomed, and those who have been welcomed. For this reason, we’re looking to grow the work we do with refugees, who are Experts by Experience.
An Expert by Experience is someone who has lived experience of the issues they’re discussing and we’re keen to include their voices in our work.
We are looking to further our direct work with these experts in order to enhance the training we deliver to volunteers welcoming refugees, to help amplify voices and to understand how to better bring attention to the issues that newcomers feel we should focus on.
If you have been welcomed through Community Sponsorship or Neighbours for Newcomers, and you would like to work with us on building a strong Experts by Experience platform, then we would love to hear from you!
We provide payment for the work you carry out (subject to prior agreement), and we are able to provide references for those who work with us. Some of the Experts by Experience work will require good fluency in English, however, for other streams of the Experts by Experience work we are able to provide interpreters.
