NSPCC’s Positive Parenting guide

Access the NSPCC’s Positive Parenting guide in English and Arabic

Parenting or guardianship can be difficult at the best of times. After arriving in a new country through resettlement, parents or guardians may be facing many additional pressures and personal challenges on top of supporting children who will themselves be learning to navigate their new environment. The National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) have produced a practical guide to positive parenting, which we translated into Arabic with their permission.

This guide focuses on practical techniques that parents or guardians can adapt to better understand their children’s needs and to set boundaries for their children.

We have provided the resource in English and Arabic to allow your Group to explore the resource together with those you support and jointly explore different techniques and advice available. Remember to maintain professional boundaries when discussing looking after children with the family you support, as a group member you can support the family, assist them in keeping safe and adapting to a new culture, your role is not to parent children.
